The icy hockey night
posted by
This past week some good friends of ours, the Hynes, came over for a bible study. Afterwards, we all went outside to go sledding. After a while, Jennifer called out a creative idea! She suggested that we play hockey on the snow
which had a thick layer of ice over the top.
We all ran and grabbed the hockey sticks and zoomed down the hill. It felt as if we were on a real ice skating rink. We praise God for the creative ideas he helps all of us come up with like playing hockey on the snow! – Kenan

Neat-o! Wow, was the snow that icy? It does look just like a professional rink! I have at least some idea of how exciting it must have been, because we tried playing hockey on our pond a week or so ago. It got pretty intense! But we broke one of our sticks (they were not quite the quality your all’s look to be) so we used brooms instead! They were actually pretty effective. Keep thinking out of the box!
The whole idea never crossed my mind once until I saw someone (think it was Matthew) bringing out the hockey sticks. Hockey? Who thought of that idea? – Jennifer. Another blessing of a large family. Where no children are, the house is clean, but much increase (and fun) is by multiple children.
I remember a day or two later having another hockey game. Markie was player #1, Kenan #27, Adam #43, Sarah #27, and Daniel #99. #1 had an uncanny way of sliding right infront of his opponents (#27, 43, & 99). Faithful #27 new how to slide right up to the goalie, avoid his stick, and score (atleast twice). Then our amazing opponents: #27 & 43 understood the importance of teamwork and would always be just a slide away from one of us, ready to defend. #99 was up field (field??), and down-rink
, sliding here and there, and wait, no….don’t you dare…….he scored on me again. Yes, that was some snowonderful super slippery fun! The foot prints here and there seemed to add to the strategy and uniqueness of our rink
. Thanks Kenan for capturing that memorable event.
Sounds like you had a fun time! We played ice hockey on our pond too. We hade very close collisions and exciting close calls
It is very hard to get through a team that works together. Which team won? Keep rejoicing and have a very good winter
Thankyou for commenting. The game was close but it ended up as a tie:-) Hope to see you all soon.
