Do you know your Presidents?
posted by
One morning while eating breakfast, Sarah and I looked on the back of a cereal box. There were some questions about past American presidents. I started to read them and everybody tried to guess. It was a lot of fun. Let’s see if you can answer some of these.
1. Name three Chief Executives who served as U.S. Generals prior to their election as President.
2.What are the four state capital cities named for U.S.Presidents?
3.Identify the President on both the penny and the $5 bill.
I’ll post the answers in a couple days.

Great questions Adam. I’ve noticed you really enjoy learning. I appreciate your teachable heart. Your post encouraged me to do some learning myself. So I checked out the Bureau of Engraving and Printing website and found out that Woodrow Wilson is on the $100,000, President Lincoln’s U.S. Treasury Secretary Salmon Chase is on the $10,000, James Madison is on the $5000, Grover Cleveland is on the $1000, and William McKinley is on the $500. Wow! I don’t think I’ll be seeing too many of those in my wallet any time soon though.
Adam, Thankyou for making me think. Let’s see 3 Presidents that were generals before becoming President. George Washington, Dwight Eisenhower and…..hmmmm…… and…..hmmmm……how about Ulysses S. Grant. I look forward to seeing if I got it right. Love Dad
I know the answer to the last question. But the other two I’ll have to think about. Hmmmmmmm……..??????
Great questions, Adam! They really make me think. As we’re getting close to the 4th of July, it’s an especially good time to get together and pray for our President and other leaders.
Today we did this after the Pastor mentioned 1 Timothy 2 in his sermon: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
Let me take a shot at #2:
– Lincoln, Nebraska
– Jefferson City, Missouri
– Madison, Wisconsin
– Jackson, Mississippi
How did I do?
