I know this is a later comment than the others but I just realized that that's an excellent balance to my Taiwan testimony on prayer! If it is Christ-like to bring our requests to God, how much more for us to find, understand and bear the requests of others! A well-written and encouraging post Sarah.

The saying is true that the books we read and friends we make will shape our lives. Excellent recap Sarah. That is enough to whet one's appetite. I know I sure enjoyed the simple, but profound message which came from the captivating story.

Ooh, I think we do have the sequel to Jessica's First Prayer. Thank you for salting the oats Mrs. Southerland! We will certainly look forward to reading 'Jessica's Mother.'

Amen to Daniel's comments. This is one of my favorites as well. I am sure that all of Team Southerland will love it when we read it as a family.

We love so many of the Lamplighter books. TS3 and TS4's favorite books are "The Little Lamb", "The White Dove", and "Rosa of Linden Castle". They also like "Christie's Organ" and the sequel, "Christie the King's Servant". Oh, and "Stick to the Raft" too! So many fantastic books! :)

Sorry I can't hyperlink those titles, but they can all be found at the Lamplighter website.

I have to admit, I really fell in love with little Jessica. Have you read the sequel, "Jessica's Mother"? Get your hankies ready!

I am so thankful for Lamplighter Ministries for publishing these books that encourage our families in our walks with Jesus! Praise the Lord for all their work. Lord, please bless Mr. Hamby with wisdom and discernment as his ministry expands and reaches more families for Your glory!

Short, fun books with meaningful messages are hard to come by, but one of my favorites. There is nothing quite like a good book!
