A Quiver Full
posted by
Sunday was Daddy’s birthday. Grandpa, Grandma, and the Campbells came to our house. We had church at our house that morning and afterwards celebrated Daddy’s birthday. Grandma brought a peach cobbler & angel food cake. Mrs. Campbell made two coconut pies. And then our family made ice cream cake and a home made cake with chocolate frosting. It was one
of the sweetest birthdays I’ve ever been to
.
We set up a special arrow display to tell Daddy that we are glad to be
his arrows. Daddy is following the Lord and carefully shaping and sharpening each one of us children so we will hit the mark of God’s special plan one day. Daddy is
the archer for our family. Psalms 127: 4-5 say, “As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” I am very grateful that Daddy has a full quiver!

Wow, what a lot of cakes. Only a very special occasion would call for that many! The one with chocolate frosting was remarkable, Jennifer–obviously done by an expert!
Markie – that was sure a scrum-dilly-licious day! I wonder what your favorite dessert was.
I appreciate Dad’s faithfulness, even amidst the simplicities and normal elements of life. He takes the time to practice shooting the target so he is ready for the moment of truth!
Amen, Markie! You have an awesome Dad. I was just hearing a report the other day from China, where every family only has one child. Nobody has any brothers and sisters. I’m so glad your Dad has a quiver full of sharp arrows!
6 cakes? One birthday? Must have been a might special occasion!
Markie that sure was a special day! We are so blessed. May we continue to be a blessing to him!
What a wonderful way to honor your father, Markie. Continue to fight the good fight; the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God!
