I heartily agree about the inspiring view! America is beautiful. That must have been a memorable experience with your Dad, Kenan!

This reminds me of another great hymn: “When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur, and hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze; Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art!”

What an amazing trip Kenan! I just love the picture of the lake in the middle of those mountains. It’s just stunning!
Just think that was hidden from your veiw until you were up on the mountian’s peak. God does the same thing in our lives. He will keep His will hidden from us until it is His exact timing to show us. Then He leaves us in utter amazement of His direct action in our lives.

I forgot to add, my two favorite photos would have to be the very last one of the seemingly endless view and the photo you took at the stop light in Colorado Springs. The street lights and directional signs add an unique ambiance to the majestic photo. Did you all notice the narrow dirt trail on photo #6 – I wonder what animal roams along that way?

Wow – that must of been quite an experience working at a camp in the Rockies. I think you’re right about the song, ‘America the Beautiful,’ being written as a result of the inspiring views.

Kenan, those photos are amazing. The creativity of our Creator shines forth in brilliant splendor! When our hearts are overwhelmed may we climb that ‘High Mountain’ of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. From His perspective we can say, as God did in Genesis, “Behold, it is very good.”

Pikes Peak. Even though our family has been through the rockies on several different occassions, I don’t believe we ever got the chance to stop there. The view really looks like it is worth it, though. Absolutely splendiferous!

Thank you for the report Kenan. It brings back good memories. I hiked up to the summit of Pike’s Peak the summer I worked at a Christian camp in Colorado. It was breath taking. (Literally!)

I believe that the lyrics to “America the Beautiful” were penned from the view up there.

We serve a majestic God. I am so thankful that He reveals Himself to us in His creation.
