To the ZOO for a very special Birthday Boy!!

What a glorious day it was! The Lord could not have given us better weather. We were all together along with Grandma, Grandpa, and part of the Roche family. But the reason it was such a special event was because we had the privileged to go with one of the greatest little brothers in the world MARKIE WILKES
We saw such wonderful, and unique animals. From the Sloth bear to the smelly mann wolf which really lets you now you are near him 
The speedy and fierce cheetah to unique species of ducks that waddle right around you!
Markie truly enjoys animals 
and being at the Zoo brought great joy and excitement to him! If you were to ask him what his favorite animal is you might be surprised to hear what his answer would be. Its color begins with the letter P, and its name begins with the letter P. Any guesses?? It is no other than a Pink Pig!
So for his cake he wanted a big pink pig!!! We had a great evening eating pig cake and ice cream cake. As well as being with Markie and making a memory that will last forever! We love you Markie and look forward to watching you fulfill the plans that God has for you!
As I look back over the year and see how you have grown spiritually I praise the Lord. You are grasping what it truly means to be a young man after God’s own heart. The example of leadership that you show and desire to disciple those that are younger and older than you encourages and inspires us all. But most of all it brings great honor and glory to God. Keep your eyes on Christ and follow close behind Daddy and your wonderful older brothers. You are a blessed young man to have such godly role models.
I really liked the picture of the cheetah because my two favorite are the Jaguar and the cheetah. I think the zoo is a great place to go for a birthday and I used to go there all the time for mine. Happy Birthday!
Ah yes, whether you’re in Taiwan, the winter wonderland of West Virginia
, or Washington, D.C., the zoo is a wonderful place to spend the day. And even for early March, the weather was simply stunning!
You know Markie, the thought just hit me that the Lord sure does a good job at providing the perfect weather for your birthday each year. I believe it was either last year or the year before that we had a big snow storm around your birthday that provided a perfect day in the snow. This year it was the zoo! I’m looking forward to next year!
What a massive cake! I’m sure you enjoyed creating it. While at the zoo, did you make it to the Amizonia? I’m glad the weather was better than it was the last time you were there.
And by the way, great shots of the animals. I don’t think I’ve ever been close enough to the Cheetahs to get such a fill-the-frame picture like the one above.
Happy Birthday Markie! I don’t know a better way to celebrate a birthday then going to the zoo. It looks like you picked a great time to go when all the animals were out. And what a cake I have never seen a cake anything like that. A special cake goes to a special birthday boy!
