Merry Hearts – Good Like Medicine
posted by
As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news (and friends) from a far country (Proverbs 25:25).
Such was the case of our recent visit with the Sager Team! Since their family moved to Texas, over 3 years have elapsed between seeing them. How wonderful though it was to see the hand of God at work in their midst and to be encouraged once again that God is raising a mighty generation all across the land who will stand for Him.
There were several highlights from our time with them. Years
ago when the Wilkes and Sager Teams were much fewer in number, our families drove to the beautiful White Oak Canyon trail within the Shenandoah Mountains near Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria, VA.
At the head of the trail is a large rock where our families had taken a picture at over 15 years ago. Almost two times in number this time around, we all climbed to the top for a memorable photo. Recent rain storms throughout the area made the rivers absolutely beautiful as we hiked through the woods, sharing memories and making new ones!
Our time together came to an end all too fast. Games were played, hilarious memories made
, inspiring Wisdom
Searches had, and spirits encouraged as the Rock of our Salvation, Jesus Christ, was glorified. Thank you Sager Team for blessing our home and for being a testimony to us of Proverbs 17:22.
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”
Thank you Sager Team for gracing our home! What joy abounded all weekend long. I know we all enjoyed hearing the fun songs your family has been learning to sing. May the Lord continue to guide your family to sing His praises and be a conduit of true joy!
Caleb, I appreciate the verse you taught me. Keep memorizing God’s Word!
It definitely was an awesome time with the Sager family. Their Love for the Lord was definitely encouaraging and uplifting. Going and visiting the famous “Rock” brought back good old memories.
What a wonderful time that was! Thank you Sager Team for coming and visiting us! You all were such an encouragment to me to continue on in this race for Christ. Keep letting Christ be the one that defines your life! Looking forward to future visits with you all.
Sounds like a wonderful time of fellowship and fun. Great memories…and pictures.
God bless =)
Truly good news from a far country, that was. The beauty of God’s creation provides a backdrop for those who rally to live in harmony with the One Who for them is not only Creator but Savior! Even as you go your separate ways, please know that ‘others are being drawn to Christ and God is being glorified’.
Thank you Wilkes Team for such a wonderful visit. We are still basking in the joy and memories made while we were there. You all are such a special family and true friends. Your love for the Lord shines through in all you do and spills over to those around you. We are looking forward to visiting with you all again in the future.
