For the beauty of the earth!
posted by
For the beauty of the earth
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from
our birth
Over and around us lies.
Refrain:
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise.
For the beauty of each hour,
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale,
and tree and flower,
Sun and moon, and stars of light.
For For the joy of ear and eye,
For the heart and mind’s delight,
For the mystic harmony
Linking sense to sound and sight.
For Thy Church, that evermore
Lifteth holy hands above,
Offering up on every shore
Her pure sacrifice of love.
For each perfect gift
of Thine,
To our race so freely given,
Graces human and divine,
Flowers of earth and buds of Heaven.
What a beautiful hymn! This song came to mind as I was reviewing the pictures I had taken. What a stunning world we live in. And to think that it happened all by chance?? To have such color and variety of plants there had to be a Creator!
Praise the Lord that we can know our Creator!! We can have a personal relationship with the very one that created both us and the world we live in. May we never forget that to whom much is given much is required! Luke 12:48
AMEN!
Jennifer, I love the song you picked for this post. It fits it just perfectly. Those flowers are so beautiful! They are a beauty for the earth.
Beautiful photos Jennifer! Thank you for taking the time to notice the beauties of creation & take the photos. Are these flowers from the cottage garden?
The stunning way the pictures were framed highlighted their beauty. It is such a peaceful feeling to know Who to admire and thank for the beauty around us.
Yes, Josh these are from the back yard! I wanted to catch the last bit of the summer color before the cold snap later this week. I am looking forward to fall!!
To be able to SEE beauty is a gift from God.
Stunning!
Although I’ve sung this song numerous times over the years, I’m ashamed to say I’ve never really noticed more words than the first couple of verses. However, reading your post made me see the stunningly beautiful truths in the song – thank you for sharing!
