The Joy of Fellow Believers!

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Matthew 18:20
What a blessing it is when God’s people can come together and worship the Lord in spirit and truth.
We all are in need of being encouraged and motivated to be true disciples of Christ. That is why we need the body of Christ. There is protection and guidance through us being open and honest with one another. Sharing our struggles and confessing our sins is not always easy but it is mandatory, in order for us to keep pure & usable for the Lord.
This last Sunday we had the joy of churching out at a park in West Virginia! What a wonderful time it was. We as a family came away mightily encouraged and motivated to seek God’s Kingdom and to go out and make disciples.
Matthew 28:19-20 comes to mind as a wonderful summary of Sunday.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
The messages and conversations that day were based around the theme of remembering the promises of God and then stepping out in faith to follow the prompting of the Lord.
May this be our desire – “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny (forget) himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow (accompany) me.” Luke 9:23
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Wholesome fellowship indeed! And I rejoice over the boldness of the fathers who lead their families to reach out to several park visitors. Seeds were planted. Thank you Mr. Staddon for that timely exhortation. As you said, we are in a battle and so must take heed to live like soldiers vs. unsuspecting civilians.
One of my favorite parts of the day was when Esther Staddon and I were able to encourage some very eager young ladies in how to share with others the wordless book!
It was such a blessing to see young ladies desirous to want to know how to reach others for Christ.
I love having outdoor services! Cacapon provided the ideal setting for a day set apart for the Lord. It was really good to see all the other families again too. Good pictures!

Thank you for sharing, Jenny! I agree wholeheartedly. It was such a blessing to be able to spend the day with so many believers of like heart. I’ve been thinking a lot about the morning message on the faith of Abraham as well. What a challenge to trust God completely!
I really enjoyed the pictures, too.
The fellowship and enthusiasm of about 60 people being in one-accord were a great encouragement to our spirit and a motivation to fight the good fight of faith. Thank you Wilkes Team for arranging this.
A bountiful blessing – praise the Lord for his goodness.
