Our family has been waiting a quite long time for this exciting thing to happen . Thursday morning Daddy and Matthew left around 7.00 a.m. and went to Lowes to buy a door for our basement.

We were so excited when we saw them enter the driveway! Then our good friend Mr. Sutphin, who is an excellent carpenter, came and taught us how to put the door in. Although there were a few small mistakes, the door is in the frame and after a little more work, it will be ready for use, which we will all enjoy .

This past week in Wisdom booklet, we were studying the  song ’Just As I Am’ written by Charlotte Eliot.

Before Charlotte became a Christain she had a bitter heart towards the Lord. One day someone came to her and asked why she was so bitter twoards the Lord. She then realized her bitter spirit and said she needed salvation. So Charlotte said I give my life to the Lord ‘Just as I Am.’ Throughout her life time she wrote 150 hymns. One of her famous hymns is ‘Just As I Am.’

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bid’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

This past week some good friends of ours, the Hynes, came over for a bible study. Afterwards, we all went outside to go sledding. After a while, Jennifer called out a creative idea! She suggested that we play hockey on the snow which had a thick layer of ice over the top.
We all ran and grabbed the hockey sticks and zoomed down the hill. It felt as if we were on a real ice skating rink. We praise God for the creative ideas he helps all of us come up with like playing hockey on the snow! – Kenan

For Christmas I received a science expirement kit. I am having fun trying out different experiments. This week I decided to try out the Small Potato Gun. First I got a pen and then took off both ends. It looked like a small pcv pipe. Afterwards I cut a slice of potato 3\8 of an inch thick. One end of the tube is pushed into the potato. The pen is then removed with a chunk of potato jammed into the larger end of the tube. This is then repeated on the smaller end of the tube. There should be a gap inbetween the 2 chunks of potato inside the pen.

After this was done, I took the ink cartridge and pushed it down the larger end of the hollow pen. There was a pop and the chunk of potato flew  through the air very fast. The farthest distance it shot was about 6 feet.
